Using Gacha to Increase My Companions and to Create the Strongest Girls' Army Corps

Chapter 103 Sisya's Request

The day after meeting Christian, we decided to stay home for a while.

Since it takes nearly ten days to travel from Queres to the Capital, we planned to wait here for a similar amount of time.

Thus, I was relaxing in my room, reading a book on my bed when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in."

When I said that, Sisya entered the room.

I thought it might have been Estel. It's rare for Sisya to come to my room, just like Nooru the other day.

...I have a bad feeling about this.

"So, what brings you to my room?"

"Actually, I have a favor to ask, Ookura-san."

"Is it related to that time with the comp gacha?"

"Yes, that's right."

After sitting Sisya down on a chair, I asked her what she needed, and it turned out she had a request.

It's been quite a while since the comp gacha, but finally, someone came to collect on that promise.

It's time to repay my debt... well, I did genuinely appreciate their help back then, so I have to fulfill their request with all my might.

"Alright, let's hear your wish! ...As long as it's within reason."

"Don't say something so pathetic after acting so confident! But don't worry, I won't make any unreasonable demands."

I did promise to do anything within my power.

I want to respond to Sisya's efforts as much as possible, but I can't do anything too unreasonable.

Well, I trust Sisya won't ask for anything too crazy.

"Please help me get along with Runa-san!"

"No way. That wish is beyond my power."

"Why not?!"

That was an unreasonable request.

When I said it was beyond my abilities, Sisya stood up and frowned.

"Well, you know..."

"I don't understand! No, I refuse to understand!"

"Please try to understand!"

Trying to get Runa and Sisya to get along... that's an incredibly difficult request.

I have no idea what to do.

"Isn't it something you should work on by yourself if you want to get along with someone?"

"Does it look like I'm not making an effort?"

"...You are."

I thought it wasn't right to rely on others for getting along with someone, but Sisya has already been making efforts, even excessively.

So, maybe it's time for someone else to help think of a way.

"Alright, alright. I'll lend you a hand."

"Really?!"

When I nodded and agreed, Sisya clasped her hands in front of her chest and looked at me with sparkling eyes.

She's so happy about it. She really wants to get along with Runa, huh?

I also think it's not good for their relationship to stay as it is.

I don't know what to do, but I'll think about it seriously this time.

Two days after consulting with Sisya.

"Runa-san, here you go."

"...Thanks."

"No problem."

Sisya placed a cup of drink in front of Runa, who had just woken up and sat down on a chair, and smiled lightly before walking away.

"Heiha, did something happen to Sisya?"

"Hm? Who knows?"

Usually, Sisya would be overly excited, saying, "Oh, you don't need to thank me!" But due to my suggestion, she has been acting differently since that night.

Initially, Runa didn't notice, but after three days, she began to tilt her head in curiosity.

She asked me if something happened, but I feigned ignorance.

"Acting indifferent, huh?"

"Yeah, Sisya has always been overly affectionate towards Runa. So, I thought maybe she should tone it down for a while. If something that's always been there suddenly changes, it becomes noticeable. Runa might start to miss Sisya's attention."

"I see. Somehow, that makes sense..."

That's the strategy we're implementing, but I'm not sure if it's the right approach.

Sisya, who was usually overly affectionate, suddenly stops paying attention; it should be noticeable... I think.

"Are you concerned about Sisya?"

"No, not really."

Runa didn't seem to care as she sipped her drink.

Huh... is it not working?

"Ookura-san! Where's the part where she's supposed to miss me?! She doesn't care at all!"

"Calm down!"

When I went to the washroom where Sisya had gone, she approached me, demanding an explanation.

It seems she had been secretly watching Runa.

It's only the third day, so it might not show results immediately.

"What are you doing here?"

While trying to calm Sisya down, Nooru came out from the back, carrying a bucket.

She looked puzzled, seeing us making a fuss in the hallway.

"N-Nothing. Were you taking care of the horses?"

"Yes."

"Thank you, Nooru. I'm sorry for putting you in charge."

"I enjoy it, so don't worry! Though Mofuto seems to be upset again... I hope playing with him will improve his mood."

I was unsure how to take care of the horses, but Nooru offered to handle it.

She seems to love taking care of animals and is quite enthusiastic about it.

We feed them hay purchased from the vending machine.

Mofuto was upset when we put the horses in the pet house the other day, and now he's angry again because Nooru is spending time with the horses.

Maybe he feels jealous?

I did try to appease him with some luxury pineapple from the vending machine, but I might need to give him something again.

"You should go to Mofuto quickly, or he might get angrier."

"Oh, you're right."

When I suggested she should go quickly, Nooru hurried to the living room.

Phew, looks like I managed to cover it up.

"Sisya, Ookura-san, I don't know what you've been up to lately, but don't overdo it."

Just before reaching the door to the living room, Nooru turned back and said that.

Sisya and I exchanged glances, surprised.

We were trying not to let anyone else know about our plan, but it seems Nooru had already figured out we were up to something.

Five days later.

"Ugh, I lost again..."

"You're still no match for Estel."

"Estel is always so strong."

We gathered in the living room and played a board game.

Nooru and Estel were competing, and Nooru lost miserably.

Runa watched, looking amused.

"Yawn... Shall we go to bed soon?"

"Yes, I think so. Runa, will you stay with Mofuto a little longer?"

"No, let him sleep with me. It's not fair to keep him up."

"Got it."

Even though Runa had only been up for a few hours, Estel and the others, who had been up since morning, were getting sleepy.

Runa looked a bit disappointed that they were going to bed, but she handed Mofuto, who had been on her lap, back to Nooru.

"Then I'll go to bed as well."

"...Again?"

"Did you say something?"

"No, nothing..."

Sisya also stood up to go to bed.

Runa muttered something quietly and looked at Sisya.

Sisya responded but Runa quickly turned away.

This is the eighth day.

Sisya used to stay up for a few more hours to keep Runa company, but now she wasn't doing that.

By the fifth day, Runa started to react more.

Seeing Sisya acting indifferent every day, even Runa seemed to start missing the attention.

Later, Sisya said she had something to discuss and we went to my room.

It was probably about the next steps.

As we were leaving the living room, I glanced back at Runa.

She was sitting at the table, looking down with her shoulders slumped, appearing lonely.

Hmm, maybe we're overdoing it? But she was still indifferent when Sisya asked earlier.

Should we continue or give up and let Sisya act normally again... it's a tough decision.

"Is this really going to work? I'm starting to miss interacting with Runa-san... I'm getting withdrawal symptoms."

"What do you mean by withdrawal symptoms..."

While talking, Sisya looked like she was about to cry.

She trembled and mentioned withdrawal symptoms from not being able to interact with Runa.

Is it really that bad just because she can't be close to Runa... she's such a hopeless case.

"What are you two whispering about lately?"

"Whoa!"

"E-Estel-san!? W-Why are you here..."

"Wherever my brother is, it's natural for me to be."

While talking with Sisya, Estel's voice suddenly interrupted.

When I turned around, Estel was squatting next to the bed.

When Sisya asked why she was there, Estel responded with a smile.

W-When did she get here... I don't think she just walked through the door without us noticing.

C-Could she have been here the whole time... no, that can't be...

"So, what have you two been up to? Is this why you've been acting weird?"

"Oh, actually..."

It seemed Estel had noticed something was going on.

Since I was wondering if we should continue, I decided to explain the situation to Estel.

"Hmm, so that's what happened."

"P-Please don't look at me like that. I can't help it... I've been trying so hard, but it feels like Runa-san dislikes me more and more... I don't know what to do anymore..."

After listening to the story, Estel looked at Sisya with narrowed eyes.

Sisya, unable to bear the look, slumped and expressed her frustration.

It seemed she had been more troubled than I thought.

"Sisya, don't be so down. I don't think Runa dislikes you that much."

"R-Really?"

"Yes, she looks happy when she's with you."

Despite often scolding Sis

ya, Estel approached and comforted her by patting her back.

Runa indeed often showed a cold attitude, but it had improved recently.

She only bit back when Sisya was overly affectionate... except when she was sleepy.

"How about asking her directly?"

"Huh?"

Estel, with her hand on her cheek, suddenly suggested asking directly.

Asking directly... hmm, given that we've tried everything else, it might be worth a shot.

---

"Why did you call me? Weren't you going to bed?"

"Well, just sit down for a moment."

I decided to call Runa to my room and have a talk.

Sisya and the others were sent back to their rooms, so it was just the two of us.

If Sisya were here, Runa might get embarrassed and not speak her mind.

Even so, Sisya insisted on listening, so I set up a walkie-talkie so she could hear.

"Let's get straight to the point. What do you think of Sisya?"

"What's with that question? Heiha, is Sisya acting weird because of you?"

"Just tell me what you think of her."

Runa hates roundabout ways, so I thought she'd be more honest if I asked directly.

But she stayed silent and looked down, not answering.

This is tough... I can't get her to talk.

"Do you really dislike Sisya? If so, I'll tell her to keep her distance."

"Well... that's..."

She might have realized I was involved in Sisya's recent strange behavior.

So, I turned it around and said if she really disliked Sisya, I'd have her continue being distant.

Runa frowned and looked genuinely troubled.

Considering her reactions lately, I knew she didn't truly hate Sisya.

I thought this would make her confess something. It feels a bit like blackmail, but...

Just imagining Sisya listening through the walkie-talkie and going, "What are you saying?!" was terrifying.

"...I don't dislike her. Sure, I felt repulsed at first, but I know she's not a bad person."

"Then why are you still cold towards her?"

Runa finally said she didn't dislike Sisya.

Hmm, I was hoping for something more positive.

But it's a big step just to get her to say that.

However, I wanted to go a bit further.

"...It's embarrassing."

"Embarrassing?"

"After being cold for so long, suddenly being friendly is embarrassing."

She was embarrassed to change her attitude after being cold for so long.

She had been so hostile towards Sisya right after the summoning.

"Still, I've realized something recently. Being ignored like that feels lonely."

Runa's next words were unexpected.

She felt lonely when Sisya started ignoring her.

As she spoke, she looked both lonely and apologetic.

She probably understood how Sisya felt from experiencing it herself.

"Can you be a bit kinder to Sisya from now on?"

"...Yeah."

Runa took a moment before nodding.

I thought it would take more effort, but Sisya's behavior over the past few days must have had an effect.

Looks like Sisya's wish has been granted.

Just as I was feeling relieved, the door to my room suddenly opened.

Sisya burst in.

"R-Runa-san! I'm sorry! I'll never make you feel lonely again!"

"Why are you coming in now?!"

"But Runa-san said she was lonely! I couldn't just leave her!"

You idiot! Why couldn't you stay put?!

Sisya ran in and hugged Runa, who was sitting on the chair, and started crying.

I glanced at Runa, and her eyes glowed red as she glared at me.

Her face was bright red, and she was trembling with anger, showing her teeth in a grimace.

Oh no, she's really mad. This is bad.

As I thought of running away, Sisya collapsed to the floor, having been bitten.

"A-Ah... R-Runa-san..."

"Eek?!"

Sisya twitched on the floor as usual.

Runa stood up silently and walked over to me.

Oh no... am I going to get bitten too?

I didn't want Sisya to hear this, but it's not my fault!

"You... Heiha, you set me up?"

"N-No! Sisya insisted on knowing, so I let her listen through the walkie-talkie..."

"That's enough! You idiots!"

"Ah, ah... aghhh?!"

---

"That was awful..."

"That's why I told you not to overdo it."

"Still, it's good those two seem to get along now."

After the commotion, Nooru and the others came to help.

They calmed down the angry Runa, who had bitten Sisya and left her unable to move.

Phew, what a mess. I didn't expect to get bitten too.

I get that it's partly due to embarrassment, but I wish she'd stop biting.

Well, it's my fault this time, so I guess I deserved it.

"Here you go, Runa-san."

"Mm."

"How is it? Tasty?"

"...Yeah."

Maybe the earlier incident had some effect; Runa was now sitting on Sisya's lap, being fed fruit.

Sisya looked overjoyed, smiling brightly after being unable to interact with Runa for eight days.

"Sisya."

"Yes, what is it?"

"Sorry... for always being so cold."

"...It's okay! I don't mind at all!"

Runa blushed and turned away, apologizing to Sisya.

Hearing that, Sisya was momentarily stunned, then smiled with tears in her eyes and hugged Runa.

What a heartwarming sight.

Seeing this makes all the trouble worthwhile.

"Sigh, I'm jealous. Brother, you can put me on your lap and hug me too, you know?"

"T-That's too embarrassing..."

"In that case, I'll hug Ookura-san!"

"Why?!"

Watching them, Estel clung to me, asking for the same treatment.

When I refused out of embarrassment, Nooru stuck to my other side, saying she'd do it instead.

W-Why are they all clinging to me... are they that jealous of Sisya and Runa?

"Sisya, I didn't do much this time, but are you really satisfied with this request?"

"Yes, it's fine. You created the opportunity, Ookura-san. Thank you."

"I-I see... well, if you say so."

The whole thing started as a favor for the comp gacha, but I didn't really do much.

It seemed like a weak request.

When I asked Sisya if she was truly satisfied, she smiled and thanked me.

Seeing her happy face made my heart skip a beat.

Could it be that Sisya's smile actually made me feel nervous... but well, Sisya, who looks genuinely happy now, is really charming.

An unhandled error has occurred.
