Using Gacha to Increase My Companions and to Create the Strongest Girls' Army Corps

Chapter 133

// Insufficient Firepower --

When I got home after hearing Christoph-san’s story, Sisya, who had returned earlier, was preparing dinner.

As we ate, I shared the story I heard at the guild with her and Runa.

“Is it true that there are such beings as demons?”

“Mmph, gulp… that sounds like a troublesome matter.”

“Does it? From what I heard, they seem quite strong, so I’d love to fight one one-on-one.”

“Come on… Even for you, Sisya, that’s impossible. Even if we all fight together, I don’t think we’d come out unscathed.”

Sisya’s eyes sparkled as she clenched her fists. It’s reckless to think she can handle such a powerful foe on her own, especially when it might be dangerous for all of us to face it together.

“Are demons really that strong?”

“Can’t we defeat it even if we all fight together?”

Noru and the others seemed to doubt that our opponent could be that formidable.

Right now, our party is well-balanced with attack, defense, and healing roles. Moreover, apart from me, each member is powerful enough to defeat most monsters single-handedly.

But…

“The demon I knew was a raid boss. For the highest level ones… I think we needed at least 15 units combined from our allied forces.”

“F-fifteen units…”

“That certainly sounds difficult to handle.”

Back when I played, the highest level demon required at least 15 units to defeat. However, this included SR and SSR units, so the number could vary. With a full UR unit setup, defeating it might be possible with fewer than ten units.

Our party is already in the best possible state with enhanced gacha gear and each having two exclusive UR equipment. So, even with fewer members, we should be able to defeat it.

“This is based on the demons I know, so I’m not sure about the actual strength.”

“Given the situation, it seems wise to avoid fighting a demon for now.”

Even in GC, the strength of demons varied greatly. If it’s one of the weakest demons, considering our current level, I might be able to win alone. But assuming it's weak and facing a top-level demon from GC could end disastrously. So, for now, we should avoid confronting demons if we encounter them.

“I don’t want to fight strong enemies. I’m only good with weaklings.”

“Don’t call yourself a weakling specialist…”

Runa, who had been listening, proudly declared herself a weakling specialist. I’ve never met anyone who openly admits that… Well, I’d rather not face strong enemies either.

But since we plan to continue cooperating with the adventurer’s guild, we need to be prepared for unexpected encounters. We should get ready for such a scenario.

“So, the problem is, we’re lacking in firepower.”

“That’s true, but…”

“So, basically, Ookura-san wants to spin the gacha, right?”

“Exactly! You’re spot on, Sisya, my friend.”

“Gacha again? Heiha, you’re always about the gacha.”

Everyone seemed to realize it was about the gacha without me explaining. Yep, we’re getting to know each other well.

Meanwhile, as soon as I mentioned the lack of firepower, Noru silently stood up, took her dishes to the sink, and then picked up the satisfied, full Mofuto from beside the table. She started heading to her room without looking at us.

I stood up and placed a hand on her shoulder from behind.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

“Ah… I was just thinking of taking Mofuto for a walk…”

“No need to rush. It’s after dinner, so let’s sit down and have a chat.”

Noru, realizing what was coming, seemed to be planning an escape. I admire her guts for trying to escape right in front of me.

“Ugh, I don’t want to! I’m going back to my room!”

“I haven’t said anything yet.”

“You’re going to say we need to collect more magic stones, aren’t you! I don’t want to!”

Noru swayed her body and hair tied in a ponytail, refusing to listen. As expected.

“Calm down. It’s true we need to collect magic stones. But this time, I have a plan. Trust me.”

“I don’t trust you at all, Ookura-dono…”

“I’m not lying. Look into these clear eyes.”

“They’re not clear…”

“Ugh… I swear by the gacha, this time it’s fine. Now, let’s sit down.”

“If you’re lying, I’ll make you undergo rigorous horseback training…”

Somehow, I managed to convince her to sit back down. But rigorous training with Noru sounds terrifying…

But it’s okay. I’ve considered all aspects this time.

I sat back down and put my elbows on the table, clasping my hands in front of my face.

“Now, regarding our future plans… First, we aim to collect 2000 magic stones.”

“Wait, wasn’t our goal 1000 stones?”

Noru’s keen sense is annoying. She remembered… Let’s just push through.

“Anyway, our first goal is 2000 stones.”

“You’re ignoring me!”

“How many stones do we have now?”

“Let’s see… 1168.”

A goal of 2000 might sound like a lot, but we’ve already collected more than half. This is thanks to the continuous hunts with Sisya. While her battle-crazy nature can be problematic, it's very beneficial for gathering magic stones.

“Initially, I did say 1000 stones. But we must avoid repeating the tragedy of the last box gacha! So, I believe we should aim high and collect 2000 stones!”

“Even if you say it so passionately, it’s still a lot…”

Noru seemed a bit taken aback by my fervent speech.

After the disappointment of the last box gacha, I want to secure enough stones to ensure a definite victory this time.

“I’d like to collect them as quickly as possible. But I don’t intend to overdo it. I’ll keep the burden on you guys to a minimum, so please help.”

“Well, if you insist that much, I’ll listen to your plan…”

“If it’s for my brother, I guess it can’t be helped.”

“Thank you!”

Since we only need about 800 more stones, it shouldn’t be as grueling as before. Noru and the others understood this, and despite not being eager, they showed willingness to cooperate.

“First, Noru and Estel, I’d like you to hunt in the northern cave once every two days. You can finish by the afternoon.”

“That’s a very short time. Is that really okay?”

“That’s much shorter compared to before. Are you sure?”

“Yes, it’s fine.”

Noru and Estel should be able to collect at least 30 stones in half a day. The main magic stone hunting will be done by Sisya and me, so they just need to supplement a bit.

“Sisya, you’ll be with me in Goblin Forest hunting orcs. How long would you prefer?”

“Until sunset is fine.”

“Ah, okay. Thank you so much.”

“No problem. If Ookura-san insists, I can’t refuse.”

She answered with a radiant smile… As expected of Sisya, truly a dependable cleric.

Next is the most problematic, Runa…

“Runa, I’d like you to help me hunt orcs from sunset to late night. Would once every two days be alright… or do you dislike that?”

“No problem. I’ll work hard there instead of being an adventurer.”

“Great! Thanks a lot! You can sleep as much as you want afterward!”

“Yes, that’s the plan.”

She agreed easily, but as expected, she plans to shut herself in afterward. I’ll be grateful for her cooperation in hunting.

As I was satisfied with Runa’s response, Noru spoke up.

“Ookura-dono, are you sure it’s safe to hunt for such long hours?”

“That’s right. Even for you, it’s dangerous.”

“It’s fine. I’ve scheduled it every two days to be considerate.”

I plan to hunt full-out every other day, but that’s inevitable. Since I’m the one who wants to spin the gacha, I should work the hardest. Goblins and orcs are easy to hunt now, so it’s not dangerous.

With appropriate breaks, it should be manageable. As I thought about this, Sisya spoke up.

“I’ll join you at night too! It’s unfair if only you and Runa get to hunt together!”

Unfair… I intended to let her rest at night out of consideration, but she called it unfair.

She doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to hunt with Runa.

“Ah, alright… Sisya, I’ll count on you too.”

“Hmph, Sisya joining too? That makes me more motivated.”

“Let’s work hard together!”

Runa, embraced by Sisya, snorted and seemed more motivated. This should greatly improve our efficiency in collecting magic stones.

The synergy effect of keeping them friendly is paying off. I’m grateful.

“Then I’ll join too.”

“Huh… You don’t have to push yourself.”

“No, it’s not right to let you guys hunt till late at night alone. We’re a party; we should reduce the burden together.”

Estel, leaning her elbow on the table with her cheek puffed out, declared she’d join. I appreciate the reduced burden, but… what’s gotten into her?

“Indeed. We’ll hunt daily till afternoon.”

“Really? You don’t have to push yourselves.”

“It’s fine. The sooner we finish, the better.”

“I’m really grateful.”

Noru, though reluctantly, agreed to hunt daily. I

feel bad making them go along with my whim.

“But afterward, you’ll undergo rigorous horseback training.”

“…Seriously?”

“Seriously.”

An unhandled error has occurred.
