Using Gacha to Increase My Companions and to Create the Strongest Girls' Army Corps

Chapter 138

After experiencing horse riding training, we decided to start hunting for leveling up the next day.

Though we thought about finding a new hunting ground, we decided to hunt at Remri Mountain first to quickly earn the required costs.

Several days of hunting later, today we were once again diligently hunting Lizardmen.

"Hup, take that!"

Deflecting attacks with my pot lid, I relentlessly stabbed Excalibar into the Lizardman's legs.

As it lost its balance, I thrust the weapon into its shoulder, pulling it down and stabbing it in the back before it could stand up.

In no time, the Lizardman dissolved into light particles, leaving behind scales and other drop items.

"Phew, that wraps up this wave."

"The Lizardmen here keep coming in large numbers."

"But it's convenient since we don't have to move around. They come to us as soon as I cast magic."

This was our umpteenth Lizardman group defeat of the day.

Estel would attack from afar with magic, and we would wait for the Lizardmen, who reacted by coming towards us.

Hunting on the rocky mountain was unstable, so we weren't charging in like we did in the Goblin Forest.

With Lizardmen spawning from all directions and being relatively strong, we avoided getting surrounded.

Moreover, attacking them would call more of their kind, saving us the trouble of moving, as Estel mentioned.

There were also rare Kephurs, and we could gather magic stones and valuable scales and skins, making it worthwhile.

Thanks to this, we leveled up and reached level 80. At this pace, we could soon achieve our goal of 20 costs.

"Hunting for magic stones, now leveling up. Heiha, you're living too fast."

Runa sat on a rock, lazily resting her spear on her shoulder.

Though I dragged her along for leveling up, she seemed quite displeased.

"Maybe it's just that you're too laid-back, Runa."

"Not at all. That's the problem with youngsters these days."

"Runa, you're still young too, right?"

Being called a youngster by a child... And Runa's laziness has nothing to do with this!

Speaking of which, how old is Runa? She looks around ten years old, but being a vampire, her appearance might be deceptive.

Though she acts her age when she clings to Sisya, it’s quite confusing.

As I glanced at Runa to ask her, she averted her eyes, clearly intending to ignore me.

She knew what I was going to ask and chose to ignore it...

If I forced the issue, Sisya might get mad, so I'll let it go... But wait, Sisya hasn't spoken at all.

"... Sigh."

"What's with the sigh?"

"It's rare for Sisya not to enjoy hunting."

Sisya sat on a rock, looking down with a frustrated expression.

I've never seen her like this while hunting.

Though she participated in the Lizardman hunt, she didn't seem to be in a bad condition...

"Haha... Hunting is fun. But when hunting with you all, I feel my lack of strength..."

"I don't think you need to worry that much..."

"No, I do. Compared to you all, my speed in defeating enemies is noticeably slower."

"You're a priest, so isn't that expected?"

In our typical Lizardman hunts, Estel and Runa would weaken the group of eight Lizardmen with ranged attacks, and Nooru and I would finish them off.

Sisya did fight sometimes, but it took her longer to defeat one, so she prioritized healing.

While she could handle them, her priestly role wasn't suited for efficient hunting of strong enemies.

Her gear was also mainly for healing, so that played a part too.

Though Nooru managed fine, I often took hits, so having Sisya prioritize healing was beneficial for me.

Unlike Nooru and Sisya, I couldn't dodge easily... Blocking and counterattacking was safer for me.

Just as I was thinking that, Runa said something outrageous.

"Why not give Sisya your weapon, Heiha? It's usable by anyone, right?"

"What nonsense! If I did that, I'd be useless--"

"That's a great idea!"

"Hey, thief!"

Upon hearing Runa, Sisya swiftly snatched Excalibar from my waist.

Fast! She took it in the blink of an eye! Is she a professional pickpocket?

"Give it back! Give me back my Excalibar!"

"Just a bit, I'll just borrow it for a bit! I'll return it soon!"

As I tried to reclaim it, Sisya hugged Excalibar to her chest, backing away.

"Ookura-dono, it's fine to lend it to her."

"Big brother, you're not losing it forever, so let her use it for a while."

"...Just for a bit then."

"Thank you!"

Reluctantly, I agreed, and Sisya, with a beaming smile, wielded Excalibar and headed towards the Lizardmen at the edge of the area.

I didn't mind lending it, but I got defensive because it was taken forcibly.

Anyway...

"From an outsider's perspective, it looks quite odd."

"Hehe, that's how you always look, big brother."

"With your strange gear, Ookura-dono, you look even weirder."

Watching Sisya run with the golden bar-like weapon looked entirely suspicious.

If that's how I usually look... It's a bit embarrassing if others are around.

Noticing Sisya approaching, a Lizardman opened its mouth to scream.

But before it could, Sisya blurred and vanished.

She reappeared in front of the Lizardman, stabbing Excalibar into its throat.

Dragging it down, she rapidly struck its body with the bar.

Scary... And gruesome. Seeing it from a third-person perspective, what I do looks brutal...

The Lizardman died, unable to call for help, dissolving into light.

Sisya returned, skipping with joy.

"This is amazing! I defeated the Lizardman in no time! I thought it was a weird weapon, but now I want it!"

"Uh, well... give it back for now."

"Oh, come on! Just a bit longer!"

Taking it back a bit forcefully, Sisya pouted and wriggled in dissatisfaction.

I only have this strong weapon, Excalibar. I'd be in trouble without it.

"Sigh, I wish I could upgrade my Vitting once."

"Your staff is for healing. Maybe you should enhance an SR weapon like big brother."

"That sounds good. I'll enhance my Magic Blade."

"Carrying an enhanced backup weapon sounds wise."

Nooru and the others have dedicated UR gear, so they don't think about using other weapons.

Though Sisya used various weapons for combat, she never seriously upgraded them.

Nooru and the others could master different gear, so carrying an enhanced SR weapon as a secondary weapon seems smart.

"I don't want to use anything but my spear."

"I feel the same about my staff. What about you, Runa?"

"It's too much trouble to retrieve after throwing."

Estel froze with a smile at Runa's response.

A true lazybones... But considering her fighting style, it makes sense.

She'd need auto-retrieval weapons to avoid hassle.

"Thinking about it makes me eager for the next gacha."

"Oh, you're excited. Then let’s gather more magic stones--"

"No! Absolutely not!"

"Damn."

I hoped they'd be more enthusiastic about the next gacha, but it won't be that easy.

Well, we can still gather magic stones while leveling up.

"What's the next gacha? Big brother, you aimed for 2000 magic stones; was that for a specific gacha?"

"Of course, the box gacha. I've saved enough to clear it and have extra for unexpected changes."

"You're quite meticulous in that regard..."

"Hehe, don't praise me too much."

"I'm not praising you..."

To redeem myself from last time, I saved enough to clear the box gacha and a bit extra for unforeseen changes.

I hope the next one is a box gacha...

"But what if it's not a box gacha? We can't predict the next gacha."

"True. But with this many stones, I can get at least one or two desired URs. A complete gacha might be tricky though."

"Even with this many, it's not certain. Gachas are scary."

Even if it's not a box gacha, this many stones should secure multiple URs.

With 2000 stones, I can do 40 sets of 11 draws. That’s 440 draws in total.

As we continue leveling up, we'll gather more stones, increasing our draw chances.

Hehe, with everything ready for the gacha, there's nothing to fear.

Oh, I can't wait for the next gacha!

An unhandled error has occurred.
