The Mysterious Child: An Adventure Tale Beginning with Numerology

Mirenia Damuren was a cog in the world's machinery.

For eight hundred years, since the day she gained the power of eternal youth, she had worked as the world's order.

After seeing her beloved husband pass away and being left alone, Mirenia had lived as a cog ever since.

She continued to watch over the world from the sky's gravestone.

Her former homeland had long since perished, but that too was the flow of time. Even if it was the homeland where she met her husband, she couldn't protect it against the world's tide.

When her homeland was destroyed, she endured that heart-wrenching pain.

Today again, she greets a lonely morning.

With the breaking dawn and horizon at her back, she offers a silent prayer at the gravestone where her beloved sleeps.

In front of the pure white gravestone, like a lily flower, lies a book protected by a strong barrier.

"Three Sages and the World Tree"

It was a work depicting the life of her beloved husband, now long gone.

He was called the Sage of Magic, a man blessed with rich talent and kindness. To search for his mother's keepsake, taken from him in childhood, the three of them - Mirenia, him, and their childhood friend - went on a very long journey.

Placed next to his gravestone is a story written by his disciple in his later years.

Here, his life of hardships and struggles is depicted, and the lives of the two girls who loved him are recorded.

Though his body and soul have long since decayed, the memories remain here.

Along with bitter memories that came at great sacrifice.

"I must do it," Mirenia mutters, as if reminding herself.

She is the one who maintains the world's order.

Though she has lost both her beloved husband and respected master, she alone can restore this raging world.

"...My love, Master. Please watch over me."

She offers a prayer before the gravestone in the sky - two thousand meters above ground.

The identity of the enemy disrupting order is still unseen, but it's likely an existence equal to or greater than herself. Even with the power of eternal youth, she is not immortal.

She doesn't know what future awaits her.

She is Mirenia Damuren.

Once called the "Sage of Mystic Arts," the girl who, along with her companions, led the world to destruction - and then saved it.

And as the Supreme Commander of the Adventurers' Guild, she has continued to protect the world.

She wishes strongly.

That this peaceful world, obtained at great sacrifice, will continue for as long as possible.

That the door to the World Tree will not be opened again, as in that accursed past-
