The Reincarnated Count's Daughter Is the Strongest as She Is Loved by the Spirits, Though She Is Only Wishing for Regular Romance!

Chapter 116

Afterward, the adults started drinking and shifted into party mode. Since Camille and I aren't yet adults, we left earlier than the others and retired to our rooms. Finally, the day's events were over. After removing my makeup and taking a bath, I changed into a comfortable nightgown and retreated to my bedroom. I then manifested the spirit beasts that had been in their spirit forms all day.

"It's been cramped for you, hasn't it? You can stay in this form while we're here."

‘Of course. This form makes it easier to protect you.’

Ifree settled down in front of the door, while Gaia moved to the window. The smaller Riva and Jin stayed close to me.

‘Dia, don’t kick me.’

“I’ve never kicked you!”

‘You’ve stepped on me before.’

‘Your sleeping posture is bad.’

T-That’s not true. I just rolled over in my sleep. It’s Jin's fault for sleeping on top of me. Riva prefers to float around in the air and often sleeps on Ifree's back to avoid getting kicked. Tonight, only Jin followed me to bed, learning to sleep by my pillow to avoid being kicked.

Even though I tried to act normal, I might have been more tense meeting foreign VIPs. Despite going to bed earlier than usual, I felt drowsy quickly. Just as I was dozing off, there was a hesitant knock on the door.

“Dia-sama, may I come in?”

With only the bedside lamp on, opening the door created a beam of light that illuminated the room. Though I couldn't see her face, I recognized the voice.

“Nelly?! You’re still up? Are you planning on staying up all night?”

I asked, startled as I sat up.

“Of course. The others on standby can sleep during the day. I’ll wake Gemma and the guards to take over... Ah!”

Striding in confidently, Nelly tripped over Ifree, who lay sprawled on the floor, and fell onto him with a thud.

“How could you not notice Ifree, lying right in front of the door?”

“Shouldn’t you be resting?”

“I’m fine! Besides, Camille-sama is here.”

What?! At this hour? What is he thinking? If anyone saw him coming to my room, rumors would spread like wildfire.

“He used teleportation and appeared in the antechamber.”

“That must’ve been startling.”

“Thanks to you, I don’t get surprised easily anymore, Dia-sama.”

Please, don’t make such misleading statements. It makes it sound like I’m always doing something outrageous.

“How long do you plan to keep clinging to Ifree?”

Nelly, who had been enjoying the feel of Ifree’s fur, stood up and straightened her maid uniform.

“Should I fetch a robe? Or...”

“No single lady should meet a man at this hour, don’t you think?”

“Rex and Brad told him the same thing, but he insisted on speaking privately with you. He also mentioned the crown prince is here.”

“What?!”

Both of them came to see me? At this hour, using teleportation, and without telling my parents—this must be serious.

“...Very well.”

After hearing my response, Nelly stepped out briefly and conversed with someone before returning. Likely, Rex or Brad had been waiting.

“Would a shawl be more appropriate?”

“I can’t meet foreign royalty in my nightgown!”

Even if it's a simple, practical nightgown, it’s not appropriate for an unmarried lady to show to a young man. I quickly swapped my nightgown for the dress I usually wore for training.

“Wouldn’t a cuter dress be better?”

“There’s no need to dress up for someone being this inconsiderate.”

I threw a blanket over my head, trailing it behind me as I moved to the sitting room. Settling into a rattan chair near the window, I was soon surrounded by my spirit beasts.

“Are you sure about this attire?”

“Yes.”

“Remember, they are royalty.”

They’d be more surprised if I welcomed them dressed up after showing up at this hour. I nestled into the chair, wrapped myself in the blanket, and sat grumpily until I was informed of my guests' arrival.

Still a bit sleepy, my mood wasn’t the best. Diplomacy might be important, but they were being inconsiderate. Brad entered first, followed by Camille and the crown prince, with Rex trailing behind. They truly came alone.

“Apologies for the late intrusion. Please, stay as you are.”

I started to rise, but the crown prince raised a hand to stop me. They were still in their attire from the dinner. They hadn’t manifested their spirit beasts, likely out of consideration for me. But I had mine out in full display, on high alert.

As they settled on the chairs opposite me, I quickly cast a barrier to prevent our conversation from being overheard.

“I hear you’ve helped Camille many times.”

“I haven’t done anything personally. I was sleeping. Could you get to the point?”

The crown prince sat straight, looking slightly tense, while Camille watched me closely. Though half-brothers, they looked nothing alike. Even in the dim room, the crown prince’s eyes, like glass beads, revealed no emotion. Camille’s hair was tousled, a sign of his frustration. Had something happened? Was this bad news?

“Very well. About a century ago, there was a king in Luftanen supported by a spirit king. Do you know of him?”

“The one called the Wise King. Yes, I know.”

“Do you know who he was? Why the spirit king supported him? This story is passed down through the royal lineage.”

A cold feeling crept through my insides. He knows my secret.

“You’re the same, aren’t you?”

“What do you mean?”

“You were reincarnated into this world with your memories intact, right?”

Why is he telling me this? Is he planning to blackmail me? If this secret got out, people would do anything to exploit my knowledge. I’ve already made too many accomplishments.

Sensing my tension, the spirit beasts reinforced the barrier to ensure no escape, even through teleportation.

“Dia, calm down.”

“It’s fine. Let her be.”

Camille began to rise, speaking to me, while the crown prince issued instructions to his spirit. Then the sound of ringing bells filled the air.

“Moana, stay out of this.”

I glared at the crown prince and murmured, causing the bells to stop.

“Don’t misunderstand. I’m not here to blackmail or expose you. This is a secret passed down through the royal lineage, never to be revealed.”

“Then why tell me?”

“Because I overheard. It’s better to be honest with you than keep it a secret.”

“Camille isn’t a king or the heir, is he?”

“He wants to marry you, so I had to tell him.”

...What? Marriage?

“Camille?”

“I had to inform the crown prince after proposing.”

“But, Camille, she has her past life memories. She’s mentally an adult. She’s far older than us.”

Ugh... I hadn’t expected to be hit from this angle.

“She’s experienced and knows how to handle men. She’s beyond your league.”

“Perhaps she’s old enough to be our grandmother?”

“What?”

The crown prince flinched as a figure appeared on the table and flicked his forehead.

“Ow!”

‘You’re being very rude to a lady.’

Whoa. It’s Amber-sensei.

Turning to the side, I saw Jade sitting there.

‘Sorry, sorry. These brothers don’t know how to treat a lady.’

With her hands clasped together, Aina apologized, while behind her, Moana sat crying, covering her face.

“Shouldn’t you avoid interfering in human affairs?”

You’re losing your gravitas with all these appearances.
