The Reincarnated Count's Daughter Is the Strongest as She Is Loved by the Spirits, Though She Is Only Wishing for Regular Romance!

Chapter 119

Author Notes:

It seems like the romance genre is coming through! (According to our standards)

It was the third day in Luftanen.

Today, my parents and Duke Powell were moving to East Island.

"Brad, I want you to go with Dia after all. Rex has also received combat training, and besides, there are many guards from the House of Eisdale here. They will surely protect Dia’s important attendants and butler."

"Of course!"

Hearing my father speak, Salomon stepped forward decisively.

We were in the reception hall of the guesthouse.

Since it was time to move to East Island, not only was my family here, but also many people from North Island had gathered.

The farewells of "Take care" and "Safe travels" were done, and now all that remained was the transfer to East Island. But my father was still dawdling. Duke Powell had already moved.

Our parents, who were supposed to move with him, weren’t there yet, and I bet he was worried about what might have happened by now. Or maybe he was just sighing, knowing my father’s personality.

Salomon was going to accompany my parents to East Island, leaving Keith and Farce here.

"The people of Luftanen have not forgotten their gratitude to the Fairy Princess. We hope that those accompanying Miss Diadora, who is so close to Lord Camille, will enjoy a pleasant stay."

The seriousness of the guards nodding at Salomon’s words was impressive.

Why are they so enthusiastic?

Does everyone here know that Camille is thinking of marrying me?

If they heard that Rex and Nelly might also become family, of course, they would be motivated.

"That’s reassuring. I’ll be counting on you."

After nodding several times, my father moved away from Salomon with his arm around Brad’s shoulder and began speaking behind me.

"Make sure Dia doesn’t do anything reckless. And be wary of Camille…"

Even if he spoke in a low voice, I could still hear him.

Be wary of Camille? What does that mean?

If he tries anything strange, I’ll knock him down myself.

"You're so naive about some things, so don’t get carried away. Think carefully before you act."

Is my mother worried too?

Am I really that unreliable?

"No reckless behavior. Don’t try to do everything yourself."

"Yes, I’ll be as calm as possible."

"Has something happened? Those waiting over there are getting worried because you haven’t arrived."

Camille, who had transferred Duke Powell to East Island, returned.

Of course, they’d be worried. It’s been five minutes since Duke Powell moved, hasn’t it?

"…Dia, are you really going to town in that outfit?"

Instead of urging my parents to move, Camille, who saw me, quickly approached.

"Is it strange?"

I instinctively looked down at myself.

Today, I’m dressed like a typical girl from Luftanen. It’s similar to the ao dai that the Fairy King Aina often wears.

But instead of pants, I layered a thin, ankle-length skirt with a dress that reaches just below the knee with slits on the side. I hear they enjoy the fashion of playing with the colors and embroidery of the dress.

The dress I’m wearing matches my eye color, with pale wisteria and deep purple embroidery on a white skirt.

The embroidery is only at the hem, and the purple is a light shade. When I looked out from the carriage, I saw many women and men wearing even more vivid colors.

"You stand out. You should wear a hat."

"Indeed, that might be a good idea. Dia is so cute; she stands out."

Regardless of appearance, standing out is inevitable when you're a different race.

Of course, blonde hair stands out.

"We can’t hide your face, so how about wearing a hat pulled low?"

"What about a mask?"

"That would stand out even more."

I’m supposed to be the decoy, so I need to stand out.

But if I stand out too unnaturally, they’ll be on guard, so I have to appear like I’m trying not to stand out while actually standing out.

And yet, my father initially wanted to assign me a large number of guards.

That would prevent any attacks!

"Dear, it’s rude to keep everyone waiting. Let’s move."

"But, you see, Dia is beautiful like you, so she stands out."

"If she doesn’t stand out, it’ll just be a sightseeing trip. Camille wants to settle things quickly to make it to the wedding, right?"

"But on the day of the ceremony, I should go alone…"

"““No!”””

What?! It’s your brother’s wedding! He’s your only family!

Even the Crown Prince wants Camille to attend.

There’s a purification ritual and a prayer to the spirits before the wedding, so the ceremony is tomorrow.

I’ve subtly spread the rumor that I’ll only stay in Luftanen until tomorrow, so I think the enemy is already on North Island.

"I can’t do it now. The Third Prince hates me. Staying apart will prevent disruptions at the ceremony."

"Camille, you can’t be reckless either."

"Huh? Ah, yes."

He probably didn’t expect to be worried about.

Camille looked at me for help, uncertain about how to respond to Mother’s concern.

"Dia also has the Fairy King with her. So don’t overdo it. Remember, there are people who would be saddened if something happened to you."

Ignoring Camille’s confusion, Mother straightened his collar, gently touched his arm, and then stepped back.

Today, he was also wearing what the commoners often wore—an aloha shirt.

So, he finally wore one—of course, it had to be that.

But since it wasn’t too flashy, it was still tolerable. It was a sleeveless white shirt with a pattern of flowers in varying shades of blue on a light indigo background.

It turns out there are some subtle-colored aloha shirts.

However, since the color was somewhat similar, it looked like we had coordinated our outfits, and with his sharp eyes, he still didn’t look respectable.

"…I’ll be careful."

"Please do. After all, you’re only thirteen. Dear, let’s go."

Mother grabbed Father’s arm, who still seemed worried, waved her other hand, and they were transported away by a magician.

"He's not used to having a mother figure," Camille muttered while scratching his head, his brow slightly furrowed in frustration but with a faint smile on his lips.

The weather is lovely again today. The sky is blue.

Soft-looking clouds drift slowly in the wind, flowing in from beyond the sea.

From where I sat, with my legs stretched out on the cloth laid on the field, looking down at the town and the sea reminded me a bit of the view of the harbor town and the sea from Berisario Castle.

After seeing off my parents, we first headed to a fabric shop.

I wanted to buy some of the beautiful fabrics loved by the women of Luftanen as souvenirs for my friends.

And then, when we got to the shop, I realized.

I had never shopped in a store before.

Whenever I wanted something, merchants would bring it to the castle.

The familiar merchants knew my tastes, so choosing items was easy, and if I couldn’t decide, I’d buy both.

If I needed a dress, a designer from the Fairy Company would come over.

If I wanted a dress for a tea party or one to wear to the imperial palace, they would design and make it for me.

Besides, asking Mother would guarantee no mistakes, and since I rarely needed new dresses, I hardly ever chose fabrics or jewels myself.

If I outgrew a dress, I could just have the hem extended.

It would be a waste to wear it only once or twice and then leave it in the closet.

So, I had no idea what or how to choose.

I asked Gemma, but she wasn’t interested in dressing up.

Camille, Brad, and Keith were no help at all.

I was at my wit’s end.

So, I quickly summarized my friends' hair and eye colors, the colors of the dresses they often wore, and their general characteristics in bullet points, handed it over to the shop staff, and said, "Please take care of the rest!"

There are seven of my usual friends, plus Mia and Britan. I want to give something to Nelly too.

If they pre-select a few candidates, even I could decide.

They said they’d decide by evening, so I decided to return to the store later.

For the other girls and the women from the company, I planned to give Luftanen-style accessories.

There happened to be a cute accessory shop next door, so I bought about fifty of them in bulk, and the shopkeeper was so pleased they closed the store, saying they had nothing left to sell today.

There’s no mass production in this world. Everything is handmade, so there isn’t much stock.

"It’s a small shop, so of course, it would be empty. Didn’t I say to avoid standing out?"

"But Gemma, you want one too, don’t you?"

"…I do want one."

Being next to a fabric store catering to nobility, the prices were just right—not too cheap, not too expensive, perfect for everyday use.

It’s easier if I display

them on a table and let everyone pick what they like.

Now, what would be a good souvenir for the men?

"So, are we having lunch here?"

"Do you mind?"

"I don’t dislike eating outdoors."

Spreading a cloth on the grassy hill overlooking the sea, pulling out a picnic basket, and eating lunch side by side…is this a date? Is it a date?

But we’re not alone.

Whenever Camille gets too close to me, Brad steps in, and then Gemma complains that a little closeness should be fine. We’ve had that back-and-forth countless times.

"The meal was prepared by the chefs at the Fairy Café."

"You shouldn’t make extra work for them."

"The chefs said they wanted to do it."

"It’s for the Fairy Princess, after all. This is delicious."

You’re already eating?!

This duke has a voracious appetite!

"We’ve been working together since I started the company. Freezing all the ingredients in the kitchen to make gelato is a fond memory now."

"Do you know the word ‘moderation’?"

"Of course I do."

I couldn’t help it. We didn’t yet know how much magic the spirit beasts could use.

"I didn’t freeze the entire kitchen, just the ingredients."

"That’s like a natural disaster."

The basket contained things like skewers of Luftanen-style spiced chicken, cheese-filled bread, fish coated with thinly sliced almonds and fried, and spinach quiche. There was also salad and soup.

All that for six people! A big load.

Spatial magic is amazing.

"Actually, I would have preferred if we ate at a restaurant, but if we got attacked, it might endanger the other customers. I thought it would be safer to eat outside."

"Attacked? We traveled by carriage, parked right in front of the store, and then left again. Who would know I’m here?"

"Did you forget you were drawing attention at the accessory shop?"

"…I was inside the store, so I wasn’t noticeable."

I averted my gaze from Camille and reached for the basket.

His black hair swayed in the wind, and his handsome profile was, as always, impressive.

Come to think of it, isn’t this the first time I’ve been this close to a boy without either of my brothers around?

My brothers are amazing. I was well-guarded.

"Dia, you should really start to understand that just being where you are makes you stand out."

Everyone else looked at me with exasperation, while Camille seemed amused, laughing with his sharp eyes softened a bit, though his tone was still scolding.

"Alright, alright, let’s eat. If we get attacked and the food someone worked hard to prepare gets ruined, I’ll be so angry I might steal Moana’s role."

"That would be bad."

I’m not afraid of being attacked.

But not knowing when or under what circumstances we might be attacked is exhausting.

It makes me want to attack them first.

"Maybe I should go alone."

"Please, just stay calm."

Don’t worry. I was just saying it.

No need for everyone to start praying.
