The Reincarnated Count's Daughter Is the Strongest as She Is Loved by the Spirits, Though She Is Only Wishing for Regular Romance!

Chapter 33

The seasons have passed, and the leaves on the trees have started to change colors. How is everyone doing? I'm Diadora, feeling a bit downhearted.

It's really awful. Listen to this. Because I spent two years as a recluse with few friends, I planned a get-together in Berisario with those I met at the Spirit Nurturing Workshop and the girls I bonded with in Norland. We planned to have a meal together, and for those interested, we even arranged a sleepover.

I also invited some friends who were about three years older, thinking they could offer guidance once I started attending school. Well, I was also considering my brothers' futures a bit. After all, marriage isn't the end goal. The life after that is much longer. It would be lucky to marry into a family we've known since childhood and are on good terms with.

My brothers are so popular that girls swarm around them at school and tea parties, and they can't distinguish who is who. That's not fair to the girls either.

Originally, eleven people were supposed to gather, but a week before the event, four people contacted me to say they couldn't make it. All on the same day. Those four are close friends, so they might have coordinated it.

I might have gotten a bit carried away. After being reincarnated into this world, everything had been going too well. My family protected me, and I was pampered without ever facing any hostility. Somewhere deep down, I believed that if I invited someone, they would be delighted to come.

I wasn't thinking about my own charm, but rather that being friends with me might give them access to my brothers and the princes. I didn't think they would refuse.

But couldn't they have canceled a bit earlier instead of just a week before? I wonder if they think I might do something to them. Being called the Fairy Princess, they might be scared, thinking I'm some otherworldly girl. But I'm just a normal girl.

Oh, sorry. That was a bit of a lie. But generally speaking, I'm just a normal girl.

Sigh. I can't get too disappointed, or the spirits might worry and do something rash. I need to reflect, change my mindset, and stay positive. Fortunately, when I invited Lady Erda, the daughter of Count Bliss from the eastern neighboring territory, she agreed to come. So let's have fun with the eight of us.

By the way, Mia, who became my retainer, also comes from the Edkins Count's territory to the east, just like Count Bliss. The Bliss territory is by the sea, and the Edkins territory is to the north of it. Even combined, their territories aren't as large as ours.

Anyway, today is the interview day with Mr. Amber and the Imperial Family, so the luncheon in three days is secondary to today's interview and celebratory event. Today is an important day for our country.

This morning, after breakfast, our whole family used the transfer circle to go to the academy for a meeting with Mr. Amber. From here, the imperial guards will take over, so our retainers and guards won't be accompanying us. Since there will be a celebratory event afterward, some will wait at the academy dormitory, and others at our townhouse in the imperial capital and our reception room at the Imperial Palace.

Berisario has a reception room in the Imperial Palace. Quite fitting for a family second only to the imperial family, right? Our reception room includes not just a parlor and living quarters but also rooms for the butlers. And my father has a minister's office on top of that. It's more space than we need.

This is my second time visiting the academy before enrolling, which might dull the excitement a bit, but it can't be helped. The park outside the dormitory is filled with autumn colors and a pleasant breeze.

A lot of people have already gathered in the park, waiting according to their status and upcoming schedules. The Spirit Ministry officials are giving instructions, and the Imperial Guards are providing security. Unlike the meetings with the Spirit Kings in the frontier, this has turned into a grand event.

The families of Marquess Corquette and Marquess Norland are also here today, but only the adults. After a brief greeting with them, we moved to our designated spot, where Spirit Ministry officials approached my father.

Today, their spirit carriage will lead the way, followed by our spirit carriage, and then the two spirit carriages presented to His Majesty. Both the Corquette and Norland families have brought their own spirit carriages, so there are six spirit carriages from the Fairy Company here. The spirit carriages for the royal family are operated by the chief and deputy chief magicians' spirits.

"Um, excuse me."

The one who called out was Elton, Andrew's retainer and the second son of Count Bliss, and Erda's older brother.

Work-related matters and messages as a retainer can be exchanged regardless of status. Otherwise, it wouldn't be practical.

"What is it?"

Chris replied as our father was talking with the Spirit Ministry officials.

"I heard Diadora invited Erda to the luncheon."

"For the luncheon in three days... Is there a problem?"

What? Is Erda going to cancel too?

"No, no, she's really looking forward to it."

"That's good. So what is it?"

"Um, about three days from now..."

"His Majesty the Emperor, His Excellency the General, His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Second Prince, have arrived!!"

A loud voice announced the arrival of the imperial family, and everyone hurriedly moved to their places.

"I'll talk to you later."

Elton ran off in the middle of the conversation.

"Three days from now... I wonder what he wanted to say about Erda."

"What could it be?"

Mother and my brothers seemed equally puzzled about what Elton was trying to say. Maybe he's just nervous about having other noble ladies present.

The imperial family, dressed in their formal attire, appeared almost like they were glowing with special effects. Yeah, it's best for me to watch from a distance. I really don't want to stand among them. The aura they emit is just too different.

A burgundy carpet was rolled out for the path the royals would take. Our family lined up along the carpet near the spirit carriages, placing one hand on our chests, holding our skirts with the other, and bowing our heads as part of the official ceremony.

"Berisario Marquess, I leave this to you today."

"Yes, Your Majesty. Leave it to us."

We could feel their gazes, but we kept our heads bowed until the entire imperial family boarded their spirit carriages. Then, we boarded ours.

Today's spirit carriage would be operated by my father's spirit beast. It's less intimidating and more familiar to see a pegasus pulling the carriage than other spirit beasts.

More than ten carriages followed behind the spirit carriages, so we had to wait inside until they all set off. Finally, the procession started moving, exiting the park's rotary and onto the main street.

While commoners aren't allowed in the academy or near Aaron's Falls, they know about the partial desertification and crop failures in the central area. They also know that the imperial family's visit to Aaron's Falls today is to resolve this issue, so crowds had gathered along the main street to watch the spirit carriages pass.

Is this a parade?

Suddenly planting trees in the middle of the city would certainly make people curious. The path from the academy to Aaron's Falls is a twenty-minute walk through the forest. Fantasy is amazing. The trees have grown with magic, reaching their current size in less than three years.

If a long forest divided the city, it would disrupt the flow of goods. So, three wide paths were made to allow carriages to pass through. But cutting through the forest would interrupt the spirits' path, so they built overhead gardens, creating green tunnels with branches intertwining overhead. The trees have even grown taller, forming a canopy like a three-story building, with flowers blooming in all seasons. Fantasy truly is amazing.

"There's no horse pulling the carriage!"

"That's a spirit carriage."

"Wow, so many spirit beasts."

"Nobles are incredible."

The cheerful chatter from both sides of the road was hard to make out due to the crowd's size, but the festive atmosphere was clear.

"That's Berisario's carriage, isn't it?"

"Can you see the Fairy Princess?"

"I heard she's invisible."

"No, no, I heard she glows."

What? What kind of creature have I become in their eyes? Invisible and glowing... A jellyfish?

Our carriage had lace curtains drawn, so the interior wasn't visible. We can't have people seeing my family or me and attracting unwanted attention. And if they found out I'm just a normal girl, they'd be disappointed.

"Glowing..."

My family found this hilarious, laughing out loud. Please, don't let the laughter leak outside.

"Kyaaa!! Andrew-sama!!"

"Eldred-sama, look this way!!"

"Your Majesty!!"

"Emperor! General! Long live!!"

Hearing the cheers for the imperial family felt like listening to fans at a concert. Their popularity is astonishing. Considering this, it's surprising the Chancellor tried to replace the Emperor with Jean.

The twenty-minute walk took only five minutes by spirit carriage. We arrived in no time, and the last carriages probably hadn't even left the academy yet.

First, the imperial family and Berisario would meet Amber, so we disembarked and entered the imperial territory.

The imperial territory is restricted to the royal family, with no unauthorized entry. While the imperial capital is the royal family's domain, it's filled with national facilities, and even the palace is mostly used for running the country.

However, the imperial territory is exclusively for the royal family's use, like private land and facilities. The Aaron's Falls area is a strictly preserved zone, untouched since the kingdom's founding. It's said to take over

an hour to walk from one end to the other.

The carriages parked in a square off the main road, with a narrow gravel path leading deeper into the area. The space seemed suitable for parking and even had a waiting area, making it ready for tourism.

We disembarked, summoning our spirit beasts in their compact forms. Surrounded by a flurry of spirits, we waited for the Emperor's spirit carriage to arrive.

Jean wasn't here since he's already a duke. Thus, the royal family had only the General's fire spirit beast, while we had our entire family's spirit beasts. Though it might seem like overkill, we're meeting a Spirit King, so it's necessary.

Led by the impassive imperial guards, we headed for the waterfall.
