The Reincarnated Count's Daughter Is the Strongest as She Is Loved by the Spirits, Though She Is Only Wishing for Regular Romance!

Chapter 77

Author Notes:

I did the grocery shopping yesterday and taped up the windows, so I spent the day writing. I hope the power doesn't go out.

Everyone, stay safe and evacuate early if needed!

"The Gafuuha is a group of young nobles who are basically just a bunch of playboys," Gil explained, finally jogging my memory.

"They spend summers playing in the Johannes Marquisate and winters partying in the royal capital. They have no interest in power or politics, and being a patron of the arts is their status symbol. They stay up all night at balls and soirées," I recalled.

In a way, they might be the closest to the stereotypical image of medieval nobility. They drink, discuss art, enjoy light romances, and disdain old traditions, believing themselves to be the trendsetters.

"That's right. Some even think it's fashionable to have fleeting romances, even if they're married. While the Marquis of Johannes focuses on running his territory and cherishes his family, some of his companions spend lavishly and end up nearly bankrupt. I believe a few have been disowned and are now living with friends or have fallen to commoner status," Gil continued.

"How much money did they spend on their play?" I asked, incredulous.

"Gil, why are you explaining this to a ten-year-old girl?" Chris-oniisama glared at him, prompting Gil to cover his mouth with one hand.

"I thought it wouldn't matter to her given her current knowledge."

"Gil, you explain things like a teacher giving a lecture, so I just naturally listened," I said.

"That's fine, but remember she's a young girl," Chris-oniisama reminded him.

"A thousand apologies," Gil replied.

Rather than a group like the Bantock faction, which engages in politics and corruption, a family not involved in politics seemed like a viable candidate. After all, their tourism industry was more successful than Berisario's.

"What are you thinking about, Diadora?" Chris-oniisama asked.

"Oh, I just never considered being a patron of the arts before."

"A ten-year-old girl wouldn't be a patron," he pointed out.

"Right..."

Judging by Chris-oniisama's reaction, he wouldn't approve of me getting close to young artists. He probably thought I'd either be taught inappropriate things or get tricked by some strange guy.

"By the way, Derrick-sama isn't with you, is he? And what about your former aides?" I asked.

"The court is currently short of talented people. So, I decided they should work at the heart of politics. Derrick is studying to work in the Ministry of Justice in the future," the Crown Prince answered.

"You, the Crown Prince, are personally nurturing talent?" Alan-oniisama, who rarely spoke during these conversations, commented.

The Crown Prince's workload was always excessive. While he reportedly got enough sleep and ate properly, he had no time for himself.

'Diora, Nelly is calling you.'

Noticing Nelly standing at the entrance with a formal demeanor, I asked, "What's the matter?"

"Someone from the Johannes Marquisate is here," Nelly reported.

"Who might it be?" I asked.

"Probably one of the marquis's stewards. I've seen him at their residence."

So now they sent a higher-ranking steward. But it's too late.

"I'll go. You all stay here and continue talking," Chris-oniisama volunteered, standing up and leaving the room with Nelly.

We exchanged glances, wondering what was happening, when suddenly all the spirit beasts perked up.

'It's the Spirit King.'

'The Spirit King has arrived.'

"Where?"

Looking around the room hastily, I didn't see anyone.

'In the park. The park outside.'

'It's Kohaku.'

'And Ruri too.'

Unlike the Berisario spirit beasts, the Crown Prince and Gil's spirit beasts rarely met the Spirit King and were now excitedly moving about.

"Let's go. If any students don't know what to do, it could be a problem. We should check it out first," Alan-oniisama decided, standing up and rushing out.

Our brothers were always quick and decisive, but they left without consulting the Crown Prince. I just hoped the students wouldn't cause trouble.

"We should go too. You'd like to meet Kohaku, wouldn't you?" I suggested.

"Yeah," the Crown Prince agreed.

The Crown Prince, despite being the representative of the central region, hadn't visited Kohaku's residence since that incident. Kohaku and Ruri, unlike our family, didn't bring him into their special areas like Ruri did for us with the lake or Hisui with the clouds.

At the entrance hall, Chris-oniisama and an elderly steward were having a serious conversation. Chris-oniisama held a letter, presumably from the Johannes Marquis.

"There's a Spirit King?" the steward asked.

"It's not a ghost. Please say 'arrived,'" I corrected.

"I'll go greet them. Everyone else, please continue the conversation," Chris-oniisama instructed, handing the letter to his aide, Rai.

"That letter is for Diadora-sama," the steward protested.

"Diadora must greet the Spirit King, and we can't keep His Highness waiting. The marquis's letter, along with today's report, will be given to my father. Rai, also report the arrival of the Spirit King," Chris-oniisama instructed.

"Understood," Rai replied, bowing and heading to the teleportation room with the letter.

Leaving the steward stunned, Chris-oniisama smiled cheerfully. "Let's go. Alan shouldn't handle this alone. Andy, it's a chance to get closer to Kohaku-sama."

The Crown Prince, nudged by Chris-oniisama, started walking, albeit hesitantly. What was he worried about?

Following the spirit beasts' lead, we encountered a crowd of students. Noticing us, they parted, allowing us to see Alan-oniisama talking to Kohaku and Ruri in the center, surrounded by students.

"You're really standing out," I commented.

'Diadora, you're late,' Kohaku remarked.

"You're standing out too," I muttered to the Crown Prince.

"Let's go," Chris-oniisama urged, leading the way as we approached the Spirit Kings.

"How are you, Kohaku? It's been a while. I brought the Crown Prince since he was with us," I said.

"Why are you here today?" the Crown Prince asked.

"..." Kohaku remained silent.

'We heard you were coming to the academy this year, so we wanted to see what you were doing. Is that uniform? It's cute,' Ruri remarked.

'There really are only children here. Oh, there's an adult. Is that a teacher?' Kohaku observed.

Despite being surrounded by students, neither of the Spirit Kings seemed to mind. The students, in turn, were thrilled to meet them, and their spirit beasts were excitedly moving around.

"We're not supposed to leave the academy grounds without permission. It's dangerous, and if anyone got kidnapped, it would be a disaster," I explained.

'That makes sense. So, where shall we talk?' Kohaku asked, looking at the Crown Prince.

He whispered something to Gil, who then ran off to speak with the teachers.

"We're getting permission now. It should be fine," the Crown Prince confirmed.

'Then I'll take you to Aaron's Falls,' Kohaku decided.

"Alright."

The Crown Prince seemed relieved, walking closer to the Spirit Kings. I approached quickly, taking Kohaku's offered hand, while Ruri placed a hand on my head.

"I'm sorry the students didn't kneel. They just didn't know what to do, but they wanted to meet the Spirit Kings," I explained.

'We understand. Children mean no harm,' Kohaku assured.

'Indeed. We love children who come to this forest to learn,' Ruri added.

They're so kind! But doesn't this look like a parent-child scene?

Looking back, I noticed Elton and Gil kneeling, the Crown Prince bowing slightly with a hand on his chest. Chris-oniisama followed suit, and Alan-oniisama had joined them.

Am I standing out too much? But I'm the Fairy Princess, and the only girl here. It's fine.

'When did you come to the capital? I thought you'd visit Aaron's Falls,' Kohaku asked.

"We just arrived, and students can't leave the academy," I replied.

'Why not? Are you imprisoned?' Kohaku joked.

"No! It's for safety. They can't just wander around outside without supervision," I explained.

'That makes sense. So, where shall we talk?' Kohaku asked.

'Let's take them to Aaron's Falls,' Ruri suggested.

"Alright."

Seeing the Crown Prince call Eldred, I hurried over to talk to Patty.

"Patty, Kohaku wants to take you to Aaron's Falls," I said.

"Why?" she asked, surprised.

"They didn't want me to be the only girl," I explained.

"Is that okay?" she hesitated.

"Isn't part of Goodfellow's domain under Kohaku's jurisdiction?" I reasoned.

"That's true," she admitted.

'Let's move to Aaron's Falls,' Kohaku decided.

"Wait, we're still talking!" I protested as we were suddenly teleported away.
