Tilea's Worries

Chapter 2

Today is my first day at the Magic Academy as a transfer student.

I am not thrilled about it.

In fact, I’m quite gloomy.

But this is an order from my elder sister. I don’t have the option to disobey.

Even this morning...

“Timu, do you have your handkerchief? Tissues? You haven’t forgotten your writing utensils, have you?”

“Y-yes, Onee-sama, everything is prepared from yesterday.”

“Good, as expected of Timu, you’re always well-prepared.”

“...Um, do I really have to go?”

“Timu... I understand why you’re feeling uneasy. You’re worried about fitting in at the academy, aren’t you?”

“Yes. I fear I might lose control and end up slaughtering all the students.”

“Timu, you’re always talking about ‘killing’ and ‘exterminating,’ but that’s forbidden at the academy, okay?”

“W-what!? We’re not allowed to kill anyone?”

“Of course not. If you keep saying things like that, everyone will be scared of you. If they don’t realize you’re joking, it could lead to fights.”

“Bring it on. I’ll reduce them to ashes with my magic.”

“Tiiimu! Enough of that! I know it’s impossible to fix everything about you all at once. Let’s take it one step at a time. First, you need to make a vow not to kill.”

“D-does that mean I won’t be able to fight back even if these humans try to disrespect me...?”

“N-no, that’s not what I mean. You can defend yourself, but Timu, you tend to escalate things unnecessarily. So, focus on self-defense only.”

After that, Onee-sama gave me instructions on how to conduct myself at the academy.

Certainly, while infiltrating the academy, gathering information, and establishing a foothold for the Evil God’s army, it wouldn’t be wise to draw too much attention.

But this is just too much...

I feel like my head is going to explode from the stress.

As I was holding my head in frustration,

“Timu.”

Onee-sama gently patted my head.

“O-Onee-sama...”

“Timu, I know this is tough. You don’t want to go, right? I understand how you feel. But it’ll only be hard at the beginning. I’m sure you’ll have a brilliant time at the academy.”

“Do you really think I can?”

So many weaklings.

Such trivial lessons.

I can already predict that my anger will explode. I’m not sure I’ll be able to stop myself from blowing up the academy.

“There, there. I’ll cast a little courage spell on you.”

Onee-sama said this as she hugged me tightly.

Such comforting and precious words.

I am truly blessed. Onee-sama has shown me such warmth. No matter how trivial, if it’s for Onee-sama, I’ll do it.

I felt a whip of motivation crack through my body.

“Well then, I shall go!”

Wearing the academy uniform, I cheerfully greeted everyone and left the shop.

As soon as I stepped outside, all the soldiers in the guard saluted and stood at attention.

The military anthem of the Evil God’s army began to play.

The sound of trumpets and fanfare. Nielsen and the other main officers had come to see me off. Onee-sama followed me out as well.

“Timu, do your best. Don’t lose, Timu. Fight, fight, fight!”

Onee-sama kept waving and cheering me on until I was out of sight.

Ugh, this is a little embarrassing.

But more than that, tears welled up in my eyes. With Onee-sama cheering me on this much, I’ll make sure to conquer the academy and fulfill my mission no matter what.

After arriving at the academy, I completed the necessary procedures in the faculty office and then entered the classroom.

I shouldn’t draw too much attention, but it would be humiliating to be looked down upon by mere humans.

I entered the classroom, somewhat restraining myself but still exuding a bit of an aura.

“I am Camilla.”

No response.

It seems my aura was too overwhelming.

I dialed it back a bit.

Finally, one of the students responded to my greeting by asking me to repeat myself.

How rude to have missed my introduction.

However, I realized they were probably stunned by my aura. It’s understandable.

“Hmph, I won’t say it twice. I am Camilla. I have no interest in mere humans. If any of you claim to be able to defeat beastmen, dragonmen, or demons, come to me. I’ll evaluate you.”

To take control of the academy, I’ll need some pawns. I can’t be too picky, but I hoped for at least one braggart who claimed they could defeat demons.

...No one stepped forward to answer my call.

I figured my aura might still be too intense, so I dialed it back further.

Finally, one small fry spoke up.

But instead of the answer I expected, it was just a weak excuse.

*Sigh*, this was pointless.

Well, no matter.

I alone am more than enough to control this academy. Now that I think about it, this little runt’s response was accurate. It’s hard to imagine that such weaklings could possess the courage to stand up to demons.

If I can’t find a warrior, I’ll settle for a beautiful toy to admire.

I gave up on finding a warrior and instead hoped to find a doll to admire.

No one stepped forward, either self-nominated or otherwise, and then a pathetic fool named Jeje had the audacity to call me “Timu,” a sacred name that only Onee-sama is allowed to use.

Unforgivable! How dare a mere human trample upon something reserved solely for Onee-sama!

I immediately punished him.

Although I really wanted to kill him, I restrained myself and only inflicted pain. After all, it was Onee-sama’s command. Of course, I also sternly warned the rest of the class to never use the name “Timu” again.

After that, the humans in the class surrounded me, bombarding me with questions.

These weaklings were so familiar that I almost killed one by accident. But I remembered my vow to Onee-sama and held back.

As Onee-sama had taught me, I engaged in rather casual conversation. This is something that would never normally happen. But for the sake of controlling the academy, I decided to endure. As a great demon, I condescended to speak with these weak humans as equals.

Hehe, I’m quite the actor, aren’t I?

Perhaps because of this, a line of people formed around me.

However, despite the crowd, none of them were suitable as my pawns. I had hoped to find some candidates for ornamental purposes, but none met my standards.

There’s no point in even considering them as potential fighters. Even when it comes to appearance, at best, they’re just average.

Just as I was about to give up on finding even a doll to admire, one girl approached me.

Her name was Miless, and out of all the worthless people I had seen so far, she had the most decent appearance.

As we talked, it became clear she wanted to become my servant.

Hmm, her magical power is pathetic, but her appearance is passable.

I decided to make her my first pawn.

And so, my first day as a transfer student ended with the creation of Pawn Number One.

---

On the third day of academy life...

I am enduring something close to torture.

This is unbearable. It’s only been a few days, and I can’t take it anymore.

The lessons are trivial. The people around me are weaklings through and through. Besides Miless, no one else meets the minimum standard for being considered even ornamental.

Even Miless alone is starting to bore me.

I’ve been venting some of my frustration by tormenting the fool of a teacher, Jeje, but... I’m reaching my limit.

Ugh, it’s so frustrating.

Should I break at least one of them?

As I contemplated how to release my pent-up rage from this torturous boredom,

Pawn Number One, Miless, approached me.

She said they were planning a welcome party for me. A commendable thought.

But the participants will be the humans from our class. It’s obvious it’s going to be boring.

However, Onee-sama instructed me to participate in any welcome parties. It’s an order from Onee-sama. No matter how trivial or worthless the event, I must attend.

As I was telling Miless that I would participate,

“Is this the class with the new student!?”

A group of rather foolish-looking humans appeared.

It seems they’re picking a fight with me.

Kukuku, this could be interesting!

It seems they’re underestimating me because I’m suppressing my magic power to around a thousand.

I was getting tired of these boring lessons. Although I’m sworn not to kill, I can at least play with them as my toys.

After class, I headed to the place these fools had indicated.

Miless was pale with worry, but that’s none of her concern.

She was so insistent on stopping me that when I hit her with a bit of my aura, she collapsed on the spot.

I arrived at the designated spot behind the school and looked around.

This place... if I remember correctly, there used to be an old school building here.

It’s a location that people rarely visit, with only a few rundown buildings. However, I noticed a few foolish-looking humans loitering around, dressed like delinquents.

As I entered the old school building, I was greeted by a thick cloud of smoke.

Is that... marijuana

?

There were also several empty bottles of alcohol scattered around.

I see, so this is the kind of decadent lifestyle humans often talk about.

“Hehe, you actually showed up.”

“I gotta give you credit for your courage, at least.”

With lecherous grins, the foolish humans emerged.

“So, what kind of fun do you have planned for my welcome party?”

“Oh, it’s gonna be so much fun you’ll be crying and screaming by the end.”

“Kehihi, it’s too late to regret it now, silver-haired brat.”

“Wait a sec. This silver-haired brat is just a clueless country bumpkin. Let’s teach her the academy’s rules first. If she’s willing to reform herself, fine. If not... well, we’ll see.”

“What’s the deal? We’re not gonna mess her up?”

“Easy there. As Tenten says, we went a bit too far last time, and the teachers started paying attention. Let’s just rough her up a bit and do some ‘fun’ stuff, then call it a day.”

“Well, if you say so, Buuta.”

The girl with narrow eyes, called Tenten, the pig-faced guy called Buuta, and several other lackeys surrounded me.

“Are you done talking?”

“Yes. First, you’re going to bow down. And then you’re going to bring us a tribute of ten thousand gold every month.”

“Bow down? Ten thousand gold?”

“You’d better listen if you want to have a peaceful life at the academy.”

“...”

“What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue? Maybe a little commoner like you can’t manage such a large sum? If you’re short on cash, you could always sell your body. I can recommend a few good places.”

“Woohoo! I’ll be your first customer!”

*Sigh* This conversation is so stupid. I almost slaughtered them all.

Onee-sama, life at the academy is just too difficult.

The idea that I’m not allowed to kill these idiots...

“*Sigh* I’ve really grown patient. Let me answer your foolish demands. The answer is no. Take a break from spouting nonsense and die.”

“Kukuku, thanks for the answer. Now we can have some real fun with you.”

“You really are an idiot. Don’t hold a grudge after you’re dead.”

“Hmph, I’m tired of your prattle. Come on, let’s get this over with.”

I motioned with my hand, provoking them.

“What a fool... this situation is different from the transfer exam.”

“Transfer exam?”

“Don’t you remember? On the day of the transfer exam, you sat at a third-year student’s table in the cafeteria at lunchtime. And in the best seat too!”

“Did I?”

“You did! And then you kicked one of the third-year students who tried to warn you.”

“Oh, that did happen. I kicked those noisy pigs who were yapping away.”

“Y-you’re an idiot! One of them was the great noble Enke-sama! Because of you, he’s still in the hospital with multiple fractures.”

“What? Do you want me to kick you, too?”

“D-don’t underestimate me. The group that was there that day wasn’t the combat team. We, however, are Enke-sama’s combat team.”

“Yeah, let’s take her down!”

The pig-faced guy, Buuta, charged at me.

Now, what should I do?

Killing him with magic would be too easy.

But that wouldn’t be much of a challenge. It wouldn’t even be fun.

Alright, I’ll suppress my magic as much as possible and fight with pure strength.

That’s right! This is the perfect opportunity to practice the ‘Judo’ technique Onee-sama taught me.

As Buuta charged at me, I used his momentum against him and threw him over my shoulder.

“Gah!”

Buuta crashed to the ground in a pitiful heap.

He was writhing on the ground with a bloody nose, looking exactly like the pig he is.

Hmph, he’s too weak and slow. This isn’t even a challenge.

“Pig-man, take this seriously. What’s all that thick fat for? Fight properly. That pathetic tackle only makes me yawn.”

“D-damn you! I won’t forgive this!”

Buuta got up, glaring at me with a face full of rage.

“Come on, give it your all. Come at me with everything you’ve got!”

“I’ll show you! Look at these muscles!!”

Buuta’s body began to swell as he used a body enhancement spell.

...Is this all he’s got, even after using magic?

Well, it’s a slight improvement.

This is the perfect moment to use the technique passed down from Onee-sama. “There is no storm before Onee-sama, and none after her,” as they say. This is a powerful technique. Both Nielsen and I were thoroughly defeated by Onee-sama using this move in the ‘Judo’ dojo. Now, I’ll master it myself.

I grabbed Buuta’s collar and threw him over my shoulder again. The trick is to sweep his right leg with the sole of my right foot as I do.

“Yama-arashi!”

“Buh...”

Buuta slammed into the ground and lost consciousness.

“W-what!? Buuta-kun lost in a hand-to-hand fight...?”

The other humans looked panicked as they saw me throw Buuta.

Come on, are they already losing their will to fight?

I was just getting warmed up. They’re way too weak. Please, don’t kill my motivation like this.

“Don’t shrink away, you lot. I’m giving you a handicap by not using any magic. I’m fighting purely with physical techniques.”

“Y-you’re not using magic? You were using magic just now!”

“Y-yeah! You raised your power by over a thousand, and now you’re claiming you weren’t using magic!”

...A-are they really that weak?

A thousand in magic power is practically nothing...

*Sigh* I see. To weak humans, a thousand magic power is a big deal...

“...Is this better?”

Feeling disheartened, I dropped my magic power down to nearly zero.

“Heh, looks like she’s out of magic.”

“Y-yeah, she must have used too much body enhancement magic to beat Buuta.”

“Y-you’re done for now!”

What a bunch of fools.

Did they really not see me transferring my magic?

Even if they can’t see the magic I contain, they should have noticed something!

Confusing this with magic depletion... how stupid can they be?

Compared to this, even a demon toddler just learning magic would be more competent.

Ugh, my head hurts.

...I’ll just end this.

I then used ‘Judo’ to toss the remaining fools to the ground.

“Ugh, it hurts... It hurts so much.”

“P-please... help me... I think I broke a bone.”

“What’s wrong? Are you done already?”

“Eek! H-how dare a commoner like you... You’ve injured us nobles, do you realize what’s going to happen to you?!”

The narrow-eyed girl, Tenten, yelled while clutching her ribs.

“I see, so you’re still ready for more. Alright, let me give you another round!”

“Eek! W-wait! Please stop... My ribs are broken... Please, no more... Hic... Ugh, waaah!”

“Hmph.”

What a boring welcome party.

Even for playing, their endurance was pathetic.

Holding back to avoid breaking them only added to my frustration.

Seething with anger, I turned to leave.

*Clap, clap, clap.*

As I exited the building, a man appeared in front of me, clapping his hands.

“Hehe, you’re pretty good. That’s an ancient martial art, isn’t it? Eastern martial arts, if I recall correctly. I’ve read about it in some books.”

“What do you want, human?”

“Oh, I’m Anasie, a third-year here.”

“I see. Are you one of their comrades? Have you come to play with me as well?”

“No, no, don’t get so worked up. I didn’t like those guys either—they were bullying people too much. If you hadn’t done it, I would have taken care of them myself.”

“I see. So, what do you want with me?”

“As a senior, I came to give you some advice.”

“Advice?”

“That’s right. Since you’ve crushed Enke’s group, you’ve attracted the attention of the academy’s queen.”

“...So what?”

“Well, don’t get too cocky. Your martial arts were impressive, compensating for your lack of magic as a commoner. But there are plenty of people much stronger than you here. You’ll end up swallowed by the darkness of this academy.”

This skinny guy... It seems he really is just here to give me advice.

He doesn’t seem hostile.

So, who is he?

From the way he talks, he seems to be one of this so-called queen’s subordinates.

“I see. Then tell this queen of yours that I’ll be coming for her head soon.”

“D-did you even listen to my advice?”

“Of course. My hearing is fine.”

“Then listen! I don’t know how tough you were in your countryside, but the queen who rules this academy is on a whole different level from Enke. She’s incredibly powerful in magic and has several strong bodyguards. No matter how much you try to go after her, it’ll be futile. Plus, she has the city’s strongest guardian on her side.”

“Really? There’s someone like that? This is news to me.”

“You don’t know about the guardian... Even though you’re a student at the magic academy? You really don’t know?”

“I

 don’t.”

“Well, I guess it makes sense if you just came from the countryside. That guardian can hunt magical beasts with her bare hands. In pure hand-to-hand combat, she’s stronger than even Remilia-sama. Her legend is vast, and she’s known as the strongest of all primates.”

Oh, the strongest of all primates!

Hehe, interesting. This might actually be something to relieve my boredom.

An unhandled error has occurred.
